The Night Postmodernism Came Out of the Grave

The Night Postmodernism Came Out of the Grave
Concept and texts by Stewart Home
Image manipulation and typography by James Brook

A poster I realised for writer and postmodern ventriloquist Stewart Home, based on an original poster for the 1971 film The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave with new texts by Stewart. I used Photoshop to mask the existing text, adding creases and fold-marks and manipulating the typography to match that of the original image. The title typeface is Corleone Due, a display face based on the style of lettering used for The Godfather films.

The poster is a test for a special limited edition to be published by Book Works on the occasion of Stewart's forthcoming exhibition at Space in Hackney, 6 April - 20 May 2012. Ultimately, the image was not used and an alternative version, designed by myself and based on the work of Barbara Kruger, was used instead. More details to follow.
