Bill Scott Book
Here is a sneak preview of a spread (complete with placeholder text) of a book that I have been designing about the work of the much-loved Scottish sculptor, Bill Scott. The book was intended to accompany the Edinburgh Festival exhibition of Bill’s work at the Royal Scottish Academy in August this year, but then Covid-19 came along and, like many other exhibitions, it was postponed. The book has been mothballed and we will send to print in 2021 when the exhibition has been re-scheduled to take place. I have been working on the book with Bill’s daughter, the arts consultant and Clore Fellow, Jeanie Scott. It has been a pleasure to work with Jeanie and fascinating to find out more about Bill’s practice. The bulk of the photographs in the book are new images, taken by the brilliant John McKenzie, that reveal Bill’s work in all its intricate detail. I am really looking forward to seeing the book in print and the exhibition at the RSA in 2021.
